I would like to return to the five member Boardman Board of Education this November. Experience, dedication, and a strong involvement in the school and community leadership are what's needed to be a successful member of the Boardman School Board. I am that voice that puts the needs of our students and families above all else.
My background includes finances, policy development, and a full awareness of the needs and challenges of our community through my experience within the Boardman Township administration. I have also been actively involved with the Boardman Fund for Educational Excellence, Boardman Boosters, Boardman Community Baseball, Boardman Civic Association, Boardman Gridiron, Boardman Volleyball, Boardman Basketball, Boardman Alumni Association and Boardman United Methodist Church.
I hold an accounting degree from Youngstown State University and have worked as the Secretary/Administrative Assistant in the Boardman Fire Department since 2002. During that time I have been involved with multiple levy campaigns, grant writing, strategic planning seminars, civil service administration, and township website maintenance.
During my first term as a Boardman School Board member, I had the privilege to work on both school funding issues and the current opiate crisis with distinguished servants; Attorney General Mike Dewine, Senator Joe Schiavoni, Representative John Boccieri, Judge Theresa Dellick, Judge Anthony D'Apolito, and Meridian Services.
I am a proud lifetime resident and alumni of Boardman schools. My two children are both recent graduates of Boardman High School. In addition, my mom, Bonnie Babyak is a 1962 Boardman High School graduate.
My pledge is to continue to set Boardman apart from the rest. It has been a privilege and honor to serve the families of Boardman Township and with your support, I hope to continue this service.
